Boy, if you’ve never ridden on a moped before, go do it! It’s so scary and fun at the same time!! Jeff just bought a 1970’s moped through craigslist for just $100 and restored it to a ride-able condition. The first time I got on behind him was sooo scary; I hung onto him for my life, especially on the sharp turns! It feels just like a roller coaster, it’s so frightening but the thrill of it makes it so fun. Time to search for a helmet of my own now hehehe.
Today was the most I’ve worked on my bike in one sitting (about 4 hours). As you can see from the picture, I finally stripped off the paint in certain sections of my bike. So now I just need to strip off the remaining half, apply a coat of primer, and spray paint it. I’m gonna estimate it’ll be done for sure before 2011. Oh and also, last week I took off some parts I didn’t need like the front brake and left gear changer thingy so it’s like a pound lighter and looks sleeker too :P
I’ve been looking at my current portfolio and thought to myself, this needs to be revamped again. It looks too childish for any agency to hire me, except maybe like a children’s store or something. So now I’m reworking it to take it to the next level of style, to an “Urban Outfitters inspired look” and keeping it very simplistic. And this time, this time it’s gonna be on flash, that’s right. Last night I spent up to 4:30am in the morning trying to get my codes to work and it paid off! All my moving buttons are functional and everything. It’s the best feeling in the world when before errors keep popping up and it won’t work and then finally, after half an hour of trying to find the error it works and your stomach jumps up in joy! Anyway, enough of my nerdy talk, for those of you who read my blog, you get a sneak peak at how my portfolio will look like in about a month (hopefully).
I guess I didn’t make my end of summer deadline so I can no longer call this my summer bike project haha. It is now just a bike project. I managed to get a good amount of “fixing upping” today. Basically, my dad helped me fix the rear brake and so I know how to handle brake cables now. Everything is almost crossed out, just one big thing left to do.. PAINT JOB… this is gonna be the last and hardest thing to do :[
I realized I haven’t been blogging very often recently. I think it’s because everything I want to say is under 140 characters so I just put it on twitter haha. Hopefully I don’t stop using my wordpress. Perhaps I’ll just post videos I find amusing on here if there’s not much to say.
I can’t express how furious I am at the moment or else this entire post would be made up of f-bombs. I recently bought Beats studio headphones by Dr. Dre on Ebay because I thought that the price was too good to pass up. Well I was a fool… they were fake!!!! Now I’m in the process of trying to get a refund and it’s making me more furious because shipping an item internationally costs over $40 so I’m losing money regardless!!! I ate a bowl of pasta, potato salad, a bagel overfilled with cream cheese, ice cream, and chips in one sitting out of anger……
I finally had the time to change my rear tire to white. Handling the bolts and chains for the first time by yourself is not an easy task, but I did it! Taking it apart was quite easy, but when I finished replacing the tire and was ready to put it back on the frame, the chains were pretty tricky. At first I was like crap… I should have taken a picture of how it looked like before I took it apart. But after fiddling around with it, I eventually got everything to function! I’m so proud of myself hehe :] Now only down to TWO major fixes left! Brakes and paint job…
